Learn the basics of AI, explore practical everyday uses, and build confidence using AI safely.

Wondering what artificial intelligence (AI) actually is, how people are using it, or how to get started safely? This session is for you. Join NCW Tech Alliance and NCW Libraries for a friendly, beginner-level introduction to AI.

In this one-hour session, you’ll learn what AI is, how tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot work, and how they can help with everyday tasks like understanding information, organizing ideas, planning, communication, brainstorming, and creating checklists. You’ll also practice asking AI for the help or information you need and learn simple ways to get more useful responses. We’ll also cover how to use AI safely and responsibly, including what information you should never share, when AI-generated information should be double-checked, and how to recognize common AI-enhanced scams.

No technical or AI experience is required. Just bring your curiosity.

Participants who complete the training receive a certificate.

Optional: Bring your own device if you’d like to explore some of the tools during the session. This workshop is offered free to the community with support from Microsoft Elevate.
