Come learn about how wildlife communities respond to recreational pressures, the potential effects of ski resorts on wildlife, and a deep dive of the native and state endangered Cascade red fox.
The Cascade mountains are a recreation hotspot for locals, visitors, and tourists alike, serving skiers, hikers, horseback riders, bikers, fishers, hunters, off-roaders, etc. However, there are many wildlife species that occupy the same areas that we recreate in. With recreation on the rise, especially in mountain areas, we aim to discuss potential effects of recreation on wildlife communities in the greater Cascadia region. We will focus on species that are local to the Cascades, in and around the Wenatchee Valley and Leavenworth area, including montane foxes, cougars, bobcats, deer, and coyotes.
