This irreverent and darkly comic take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective duo is brought to you by playwright Kate Hamill — known for her whip-smart, feminist reimagining's of literary classics. In this highly theatrical, small-cast escapade, oddball female roommates Sherlock (yes, it’s also a girl’s name—wait, is it a girl’s name? Is it even a name?) Holmes and Joan Watson join forces to emerge from the pandemic fog as a deeply codependent, quasi-dysfunctional Odd Couple adventure duo. Together they solve mysteries, kick butts, and occasionally process their feelings — until they come face-to-face with a villain who seems to have all the answers.

This production is directed by Phil Lacey and McKenzie Baird, the directorial duo behind Pride & Prejudice at ICCA. It marks the first official production from their newly formed company, Rogue Assembly, produced in collaboration with Icicle Creek Center for the Arts. Expect sharp wit, theatrical hijinks, and a healthy dose of chaos — all in the spirit of Kate Hamill’s signature, high-energy storytelling.

Tristan und Isolde

Sat · 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Met: Live in HD, streamed from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City to the Snowy Owl screen. After years of anticipation, a truly unmissable event arrives as the electrifying Lise Davidsen tackles one of the ultimate roles for dramatic soprano: the Irish princess Isolde in Wagner’s transcendent meditation on love and death. Heroic tenor Michael Spyres stars opposite Davidsen as the love-drunk Tristan. The momentous occasion also marks the advent of a new, Met-debut staging by Yuval Sharon—hailed by The New York Times as “the most visionary opera director of his generation” and the first American to direct an opera at the famed Wagner festival in Bayreuth—as well as Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time leading Tristan und Isolde at the Met. Mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova reprises her signature portrayal of Brangäne, alongside bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny, who sings Kurwenal after celebrated Met appearances in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Ring cycle. Bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green makes an important role debut as King Marke.
